Menopause Humor

By

Every day around the world, millions of women deal with menopause and all the symptoms that go along with it. This means learning to live with hot flashes when you feel as if you have just been lit on fire, the night sweats, waking up with wet sheets and pajamas, headaches, joint pain, insomnia, heart palpitations, and worst of all, mood swings. If you are in menopause and going through some or all of these symptoms then you probably think there is no menopause humor. However, as you will discover in this article, you have many options to get over the hump of unwanted menopausal symptoms.

For years, the only real therapy used in westernized countries for menopause was with Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT. At first, it seemed like HRT was the miracle treatment but then, more and more women started to show signs of certain types of cancers and after years of intense study, it has been determined that HRT is not as great as first believed. In fact, in the past several years, numerous warnings have been sent out stating that HRT should be carefully considered because of all the potential risks. From there, people began to consider options from Asian cultures to include natural supplements and herbs. After all, Asian women have been dealing with menopause too but with up to 80% less symptoms. For some reason, this has proven to be an excellent option. Okay, so where does menopause humor come into play – keep reading!

While some menopausal women remain skeptical about certain remedies, we now see more women leaning toward a natural approach. For example, common solutions for menopause symptoms include acupressure and acupuncture, which are believed to reduce stress and help keep the body healthy. Then, there is aromatherapy. With this, you would enjoy the scents of certain oils, candles, or even incense. One option would be lavender. Many menopausal women suffer from insomnia. Lavender has long been proven to promote rest and relaxation.

Some women have turned to activities as a form of therapy. Today, we see a growing number of women choosing things like art therapy, water therapy, or music therapy, which helps to calm the nerves, another common symptom of menopause. In addition to all of these and more, a new type of therapy has emerged called menopause therapy. With this, you literally learn to find the humor in an otherwise bleak situation. The great thing about menopause humor therapy is that you have so many options.

First, you might choose to purchase books, videos, or CDs to listen to great female comics that find the lighter side of life and menopause. Another option would be to join a support group whereby humor is used to reduce stress and lift the spirits. There are even conferences all over the country where menopause humor is presented and taught. For thousands of years, it has been a known fact that humor and laughter can make a person feel better. Therefore, why not use menopause humor during the change of life when you are being hit with so many physical and psychological aspects.

Too often, women will focus on the negative, dwelling on how horrible they feel, which only makes them feel worse. With menopause humor therapy, you learn to laugh at the things you cannot change and soon, you do start to feel better. With humor, you find that you can cope with the headaches, hot flashes, night sweats, depression, and all the other things that go along with menopause. Now, many women will use menopause humor therapy along with other forms of therapy for a good, all-around treatment plan. This might include biofeedback, daily exercise, something as simple as a 30-minute walk can make a huge difference in how you face life, a change of diet, or perhaps prescription medication and/or herbal remedies.

Just remember, going through the change of life is a normal and expected part of every woman’s life. Although these years are sometimes difficult, with menopause humor, they can be improved upon. If you are not sure where to start, we recommend you use a powerful search engine such as Google.com and in the search field, type in "menopause humor therapy". This way, if you cannot locate something in your area, you can at least find hundreds of forums with women just like you that would welcome you warmly.

Soon, you will start to notice that you handle the symptoms of menopause differently, which helps you to relax, along with your family and friends. If there is not a group in your vicinity, then perhaps you might consider starting one. Sometimes just getting together with other menopausal women and use menopause humor in the form of a good movie is enough to get you through another week of difficult symptoms.
